Description
Salvia divinorum extracts consist of salvia plant material that has been enriched with a high concentration of salvinorin A, the active ingredient of Salvia divinorum. Extracts contain much higher concentrations of salvinorin A, which means that they cause more powerful effects than dried leaves. They are often smoked.
This 40x extract contains 144 mg of salvinorin A. It is a standardized extract, which means that the salvinorin A was extracted from the plant and reapplied on the dried leaves.
Effects
Extracts are usually smoked and a trip will take about 30 minutes to an hour. The effects do not have a gradual onset: after smoking one will notice effects within 1 minute. These build up very quickly, leading to a peak of about 5 to 10 minutes. After that the effects will gradually subside over the course of 20 to 30 minutes.

If too much salvia is taken, it can lead to a negative and dysphoric experience. If you find the effects of the initial dose too mild, you can always increase the dose.
Be aware that milligram scales cannot accurately measure below 10 mg. A threshold dose, for example, is only accurately measurable with a milligram scale when using dried leaves.
